Kimberly Ann Oberst
1954 - 2014
Kimberly Ann Oberst, age 59, passed away due to complications associated with a long struggle with Multiple Sclerosis.
Kim was born July 31, 1954 and was raised in Blackfoot, Idaho by her parents Leo and Betty Jo Olson. She attended Brigham Young University. She married John J. Oberst on January 11, 1986 in The Salt Lake Temple. After starting her family she worked as a nurse and a health care provider.
Kim had an abiding respect for her Mormon Pioneer heritage, including her ancestral ties to Lorenzo and Eliza Snow and the trials her family endured in the Willie Handcart Company. Kim loved to sew, quilt and bring joy through gift giving. Any excuse for a gift was good enough for her. Her witty, occasionally irreverent sense of humor will be missed. She always made sure the holidays were eventful, memorable and loving.
Kim is preceded in death by her mother Betty Jo. She is survived by her husband John, Children Cassandra Jo Dorius, Richard Olsen Rasmussen, Ryan Van Rasmussen and her six grandchildren, her siblings Diana Lynn Moro, Richard Kirk Olsen and Tami Sue Curtis.
Funeral services were held Saturday August 2, 2014 at 2:00 pm with a viewing from 1:00 - 1:45 pm at Wasatch Lawn Mortuary 3401 South Highland Drive. Interment will be at Riverside Thomas Cemetery in Blackfoot Idaho.
