Doris Arlene White, our loving wife, mother, and grandmother, age 84, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on January 12, 2019 in Sandy, Utah.
Doris was born on January 10, 1935 to Frederick Melvin and Dora Nelson Wiseman. She graduated from Granite High School in 1953 where she met her eternal companion, Darrell White. They were married in the Salt Lake Temple on June 25, 1954. Doris was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where she served in many callings in the Primary, Relief Society, and Stake Relief Society.
She worked in the business office of the telephone company until she started her family. Doris enjoyed deer hunting, traveling, and spending time around the campfire with family. She and Darrell owned a home in St. George for many years and enjoyed spending time there.
Doris is survived by her husband of 65 years, Darrell; children: Steven (Debbie), Alan (Wylene), Phil (Stefanie), and Pamela (Marty); 7 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild; and sister and best friend, Barbara Lovell. She is preceded in death by her parents and an infant son, Darrell.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 18, 2019, at 11:00 a.m. at the Riverton 20th Ward Chapel, 1855 West 13400 South. Viewings will be held on Thursday, January 17th from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Jenkins-Soffe Funeral Home South Valley, 1007 West South Jordan Parkway, and on Friday from 10:00-10:45 a.m. at the church prior to the funeral service. Interment will be at Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park.
